FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your office located?

I offer 100% online therapy services. My office is in the comfort of my home and you can log into our sessions from the comfort of your home!

What are your hours?

My working hours are typically 7 AM- 7 PM EST. I will add in the occasional evening session, but I only do late afternoon/evening sessions one day a week.

How long are sessions?

Our first session is typically 60 minutes. All sessions afterwards are 50 minutes.

How much do you charge?

I charge $200 for a 60 minute session and $180 for a 50 minute session.

Do you take insurance?

I am considered an "Out-Of-Network" provider, which means I do not accept any insurances directly. If you would like to use your insurance, then I am able to provide you with a monthly receipt called a "Superbill" and you can submit this to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. I recommend calling your insurance provider directly and checking with them to confirm if you have "Out Of Network" benefits. Otherwise you can choose to see me privately and not involve your insurance at all. See why many of my clients choose this option below.

Why would I choose to pay private pay instead of using my insurance benefits?

Many of my clients actually prefer to work with me privately and not involve their insurance at all. This is because in order to use your insurance for counseling, a mental health diagnosis is required, and this gets attached to your record. Insurance can also put limitations on the number of counseling sessions you can have, prior to truly completing the process. And by not taking insurance, I’m able to maintain a smaller caseload of clientele and devote all of my focus into helping people. Instead of taking hours each week going back and forth with insurance, I devote that time and energy to my clients, resulting in better outcomes for therapy.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

Currently all appointments are made directly with me either over the phone or through email. You can call, email or fill out my contact form to get started.

What is your cancellation policy?

You must cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance of the session. Not doing so will result in being charged the full fee.

How much paperwork do I have to fill out?

I’ll send over my intake paperwork to you prior to our session and will need to gather your payment on file. The paperwork should only take 10 minutes to fill out.

What can I expect in a first session?

During our first session we will dive into your current problems, the symptoms you have been experiencing, your history and create some preliminary goals to work towards.

With whom do you work?

I exclusively work with adults (18+). In my practice I see adults of all gender identities, ages, races, sexual orientations, sizes, faiths, and ability statuses. Common areas we work on are anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, life transitions, grief, relationship issues and career issues.

What is your approach?

I practice from a cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered approach. I delve into your past, present and future, while also making sure the experience is goal-oriented.

How long will it take?

The length of therapy depends on many factors. We will discuss your goals and project timelines in our first session together.

Will I have homework?

This all depends on your preferences. Some clients are eager for homework while others prefer a less structured therapy experience. I can tailor this to your needs.

How often will we need to have a session?

Typically sessions are weekly in the beginning and then when you feel comfortable with the progress you’ve made, we can stretch sessions to every 2-3 weeks. As you conquer your goals, our sessions will not feel as necessary.

Tell me something fun about yourself!

I have an adorable puppy named Lucy that makes life so fun, simple and meaningful. My whole family is obsessed with her and we take her with us everywhere we go!
