My approach to therapy is warm, empathic, intuitive and creative, providing unconditional support throughout your journey.

I work hard to instill a deep sense of safety, trust and confidence in our therapeutic relationship, to give you the space to work through your current challenges, to find acceptance, healing and meaning. 

The first step to get started is to reach out and schedule a free consultation call for us to get to know one another better. If you decide you want to move forward and work with me, I’ll send over my intake paperwork and we can schedule our first session on that call.

Online Therapy Can Help

During our first session we will dive into your current problems, the symptoms you have been experiencing, your history and create some preliminary goals to work towards.

Throughout your therapy journey we will explore deeply your history, patterns of responding in relationships, coping skills, emotions, vulnerability, maladaptive thinking traps, values and make sure that we actively taking steps towards your goals.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach toward helping clients reach their goals – and that belief informs my practice. My counseling style and approach to therapy are individualized to each client, and the approach used is determined by what seems most fitting for the client’s circumstance.

As a therapist I practice client-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I practice exclusively online using a HIPAA compliant platform, SimplePractice.

Your well-being is my ultimate concern. My therapy sessions are designed to strengthen your confidence, and assist you in the healing process.

I first realized I wanted to be a therapist when I was 15 years old on my own journey in therapy. My experience had such an overwhelmingly transformative impact on my identity, self-esteem and overall functioning, that I felt a calling to be able to be that therapist for others.

I love what I do and see the therapy experience as being unique, creative, meaningful and transformational.

I am a licensed professional counselor/licensed mental health counselor, behavior analyst and experienced educator with over 17 years of experience helping others professionally.

Emily D. Klein

I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Special Education from New York University. I also earned a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY City College. I furthered my training by obtaining a graduate certificate in Applied Behavioral Analysis. I have licenses in Mental Health Counseling in NY and Professional Counseling in CT.

When I am not in my office doing therapy I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going on hikes in local parks, reading a good book, cuddling my pup Lucy and cooking a new plant based vegan recipe.
